Our 3 mm thick wool felt made from 100% sheep's wool is a high-quality natural material for demanding camper van and van conversions.

It is particularly suitable for:

Due to its natural material structure, wool felt supports a balanced indoor climate, improves the acoustics in the vehicle and provides a warm, elegant look.
The 2 m material width allows for large-area installations with a clean overall appearance and minimal seams.

Processing (non-self-adhesive version)

Cutting

The 3 mm wool felt can be easily cut using:

• a sharp utility knife
• sturdy tailor's scissors
• a rotary cutter

Thanks to the high material density, the felt does not fray and
allows precise seams and clean edges.

Bonding

As this version is not self-adhesive, installation is carried out using a suitable contact adhesive or mounting adhesive.

Important instructions:

• The surface should be free of dust, grease and silicone
• Surface must be dry and structurally sound
• Apply adhesive evenly
• Observe the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended flash-off time
• Apply the felt without tension and press down evenly.

The material thickness of 3 mm usually ensures that the adhesive does not bleed through to the visible side.

A test bonding before final assembly is recommended.

Shaping

The wool felt is dimensionally stable and is particularly suitable for large, flat surfaces as well as slightly curved components.

For very tight radii or complext shapes, prior adjustment or segmented laying is recommended to achieve a clean result.

Care & Cleaning

Wool felt is robust and durable.

Sufficient for everyday use:

• Regular vacuuming at a low suction level

In case of heavier soiling:

• slightly damp cloth
• some wool detergent
• Do not rub hard

The natural lanolin content makes the fiber dirt-repellent. Liquids initially bead up and should be carefully absorbed as soon as possible.

Wool also has antibacterial properties and absorbs odors significantly less than many synthetic textiles.

Does the wool felt have a smell?

Yes. Genuine wool felt has a subtle, natural scent of sheep's wool.

This is a typical characteristic of an untreated natural material and gradually dissipates during normal vehicle use over time.

Does wool felt support moisture regulation?

Yes. Wool is hygroscopic and can absorb moisture from the air and release it again in dry conditions.

This contributes to a more balanced indoor climate in the vehicle.

Is wool felt flame-resistant?

Wool is naturally difficult to ignite.

It doesn't melt or drip like many synthetic materials.

However, a specific fire protection certification is not automatically included.

Does wool felt insulate against cold and noise?

Yes. The material density has a sound-absorbing effect and supports thermal insulation.

However, wool felt does not replace technical insulation, but complements it as a functional and aesthetic surface layer.

Is the felt waterproof?

Wool felt is not waterproof, but it is dirt and water repellent.

This material is not suitable for permanently wet areas or outdoor applications.

Does the felt fray at the cut edges?

No. The compaction of the needle felt creates clean, stable cut edges.

Is the felt suitable for floor surfaces?

Wool felt is only suitable to a limited extent for heavily used walking areas.
It is primarily used as wall, ceiling and furniture felt.

This product is sold by the meter and is cut individually according to your order. As the material is cut to your specified dimensions, the right of withdrawal does not apply; returns or exchanges are excluded (in accordance with § 312g para. 2 no. 1 BGB).

We recommend ordering samples in advance to check the color, surface, and material thickness. Please carefully review the dimensions and selected option before completing your order.
