Processing and assembly
Wool felt is a natural material and differs in its behavior from synthetic felts.
Cutting
The 3 mm wool felt can be cut cleanly with a sharp utility knife or sturdy tailor's scissors. Due to its high density, the material does not fray and allows for precise butt joints and clean finishes.
Shaping
Its elasticity is lower than that of very thin, highly elastic synthetic felts. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for large, flat surfaces, ceiling coverings, and slightly curved components.
Surface
The surface should be free of dust and grease. The self-adhesive version offers immediate hold and a permanently stable bond.
Care and cleaning
Wool felt is robust, durable and ideally suited for everyday mobile use.
Dirt-repellent
Thanks to its natural lanolin content, the fiber is water- and dirt-repellent. Liquids initially bead up and can then be carefully dabbed on.
Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, regular vacuuming on a low suction setting is sufficient. For heavier soiling, a slightly damp cloth with a little wool detergent can be used. Vigorous rubbing should be avoided to preserve the fiber structure.
Hygienic
Wool has antibacterial properties and absorbs odors – for example from cooking in a camper – significantly less than synthetic textiles.
