The Felt Store Craftsman's Refractory Pad is the perfect flame retardant pad for welding or brazing small objects.
It is a lightweight, high heat resistant mat made from oxidized, thermally stabilized polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber that, due to its unique chemical structure, will not burn, melt, soften or drip. PAN has a heat resistance of about 980 degrees Celsius and can also withstand direct flame contact for a short time. This also means that the mat will not char, ignite or shrink as you work. Whether you intend to use it in industry or at home, this mat protects the covered area from sparks and spatter. In addition, it does not scratch surfaces and is not electrically conductive!
We advise you to place this mat directly under the product to be welded or brazed as a protection.
This mat is available in the following sizes: approx. 30 x 30 cm, approx. 60 x 60 cm, approx. 90 x 90 cm and approx. 180 x 90 cm.
